The first-ever Sexual & Gender-based Violence (SGBV) committee was instituted at Tibetan Settlement at Kullu district under the Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala as per the SGBV guidelines.
The Kullu -Manali Tibetan Settlement SGBV committee comes under the Central Committee based at Dharamsala.
Between 16-17August, a two-day intensive training and refreshment course was provided by Mrs Nandita Bhatt from Martha Farrell Foundation, New Delhi, Miss Tsering Kyi, and Miss Tenzin Tseten from the Women’s Empowerment Desk, CTA.
At the settlement level, there are 7 SGBV committee members led by the Settlement Officer Thupten Chophel (Kulllu Manali), Sonam Lhazom (Manali), Tenzin Nangkyi(Patlikuhal), Yangzom (Dobhi), Tenzin Kunga (Dobhi), Tsering Dolma (Kullu) and Tsering Tsomo ( Kullu) committed to the cause.
