Honorable Education Minister Inaugurates 3rd Career Fair at Bylakuppe

Dr Pema Yangchen, Kalon of Education Department, inaugurated the 3rd Career fair at Lugsam Tibetan Community Hall in Bylakuppe on 12th September, 2018.

17 educational institutions from Bangalore, Mysore & Mangalore participated in the Career Fair. Each college was provided with information booth where their representative presented and displayed information about their respective institution, courses offered, scope etc.

Education Kalon in her inaugural speech stressed on the importance and benefit of organising such event to the students in making better career decisions, creating more awareness and encouraged students to get the maximum out of such events.

“The objective of organising this fair is to provide a platform for the students to meet representatives of various professional institutes and create awareness on admission related procedures, courses offered, merit scholarship and fee structures,” said Ms. Donkar Wangmo, the Chief Counsellor.

A total of 500 students of classes IX and above from the five Tibetan schools of STS Bylakuppe, STS CVP Bylakuppe, STS Kollegal, STS Gurupura and SOS TCV Bylakuppe and 50 parents attended the Career Fair and enthusiastically asked questions to representatives of various institutions and had them provide information about various career opportunities and colleges.

The Career Fair was organised under the guidance of the career counselling cell of Dept of Education and coordinated by the CTA Resident Counsellor in South India. The event was funded by USAID.
