Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA)

Implemented by the CTA’s Women’s Empowerment Desk (WED), the initiative aims to create safer, more supportive environments in Tibetan schools and settlements across India. The program targets both prevention and response, focusing on students, youth, families, and local community leaders, with special attention to building institutional capacity and strengthening policies.

CTA’s Women Empowerment Desk (WED) marks 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
Key Achievements (2022 - 2024)

The project strengthened community awareness and protection through targeted initiatives. Journey of Life sessions promoted GBV prevention and safe reporting among students and school staff. Youth leaders were trained on substance abuse, healthy relationships, and conflict resolution. Barefoot Counsellors gained essential knowledge on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) prevention.

The pie charts show gender-wise participation in SEA training and awareness of protection issues among parents, staff, and students.
